Leadership and Management Development

This is an exciting, if challenging, time to be involved in leadership development. Societal, economic and environmental changes are questioning old notions of what leadership should look like. Evidence-based research and the expectations of today’s workforce are moving the emphasis away from directive, authoritarian approaches to more compassionate and collaborate ways of leading others.

With over 30 years’ experience of helping to navigate people and teams through organisational change (e.g. mergers and acquisitions; growth; downsizing; corporate restructures and re-aligning of values) I can provide a range of development interventions which help leaders to re-orientate themselves in this new landscape.

Every leadership or management programme I design and deliver considers the cultural environment in which the participants operate, so the examples and models used to stimulate thought and generate discussion are relatable, though it does not mean that prevailing mindsets and ‘the way we do things around here’ are not explored and sometimes challenged. I also aim to ensure diversity in all its forms is respected and acknowledged.

Of course, each development journey is also a personal one – everyone brings a unique combination of qualities, values, and skills to their leadership role, along with the corresponding areas for growth. As an accredited facilitator for several 360 feedback and psychometric tools I support individuals in exploring and planning how to maximise their strengths and capabilities whilst addressing those areas which may be stopping them realising their full potential.
